This project is important because over the last 20 years, with the development of the democratic processes and the urban culture in Bulgaria, there has been a significant increase in the manifestations of street art and underground culture.

At the same time, in the international context, these creative manifestations are already recognized as a full part of the world culture and civilization – exhibited in museums, offered in galleries and objects of protection of the immovable cultural heritage.

This situation allows the accumulation of urban art and turning it into an object of study. What information do we get from street art? Traditionally, this subject would be recognized as a research field for visual artists (artists, art critics, photographers, art critics, directors). However, it has a huge potential for exploring visual mediated communication for periods of human history for which there are no written testimonies (prehistory).

The hypothesis is that the motives of the creative act “today” are close to the motives of the creative act in a distant “yesterday,” proven by the scientific classification of the two manifestations will provide fundamental scientific information about the main engine of Human culture and civilization – The transmission of information through a visual. Such a study will be innovative both with its comparative analysis methodology between the two cultural manifestations, remote in time, and with the experience of gaining empirically and experimentally proven information about cultural layers traditionally subject to scientific interpretations.
